Jamie has recently decided that it is time to ditch the trike and ride a "big boy bike" like Cameron. They are both mad about riding their bikes and ask to go outside every day. Cameron is racing around the culdesac on his bike and Jamie is trying to keep up. Watch out Tour de France!

happy faces!
This photo is actually the opposite of our day. All day Jamie has been miserable. He's been groaning at me rather than using his words or screaming to get attention rather than saying please. Perhaps because he got out of bed at 5am...oh yeah...that'll do it. Cameron on the other hand might look miserable in this photo but he was just busy concentrating on his latest episode of Little Bear and he doesn't like to be disturbed when he's watching tv. The best thing about this photo is that they sat this close together and didn't fight...for at least 10 minutes!
Do you remember Kermit's nephew Robin singing "Half way down the stairs"? We do that song on a regular basis and now Cameron is teaching it to Jamie. Here are the boys after singing and now sliding down the stairs.Just to complete the story..here is Robin on the stairs..awwww....

the weekend
Jamie had a couple of tough nights but seems to be much better today - hooray! Cameron seems to have missed out on all the illness, thank goodness, so we are a healthy family again today. We had a fun weekend. Cameron went to football class on Saturday with his dad and then we took both boys for a hair cut. Cameron loves getting his hair cut because he gets a lollipop when it is finished - great motivation! Jamie has just discovered lollipops and manages to eat about half before he's finished with it ...which is just fine with me.
Today I had my mothers day present. We went to see Grant's football friend Keith, who is a photographer. He takes amazing shots and has his own studio in Merrifield. He took lots of photos of the boys and of us as a family. They will be so much fun to look back on in years to come. I can't wait to see them! I'll be posting some of my favourites next week when we get them back from Keith. Lisa-Marie is right - Keith rocks!
Grant is back playing football again tonight for the Murphy's team. He misses Mark..awwww. He's also missed a couple of weeks playing football while he's been in Africa so tonight will probably be a killer for him. I'll post tomorrow if he walks to work or needs to be carried.
This coming week is the last week of preschool - oh man! So I'll be running around doing Miranda things before a full summer of the boys. I also have my last dentist appointment on Wednesday. I'm a big baby about going to the dentist but I've been strong and I've had several big appointments recently...last one this week and then hopefully I'll just be getting check ups from now on! Wish me luck!
And if the rain could stop this week that would be fantastic because we have big damp patches in our guest bedroom, the carpet pulled back from the wall and the bed in pieces. There's also a rather unpleasant mouldy smell. Oh joy! Bring on the sunshine and summer!

Doctor, doctor
We haven't blogged for about a week because we've had a busy time and lots of doctor's visits.
Granny Tina left on Tuesday and we're all a bit sad because we miss her. Cameron was in denial for a few days but seems to be over it now and actually spoke to her on the phone which is a good sign that he's forgiving her for having other things to do apart from play his new game with cars called "watch your toes!"
Jamie had pink eye and then we discovered a double ear infection. Then he was allergic to the antibiotics they gave him and came out in a rash all over his stomach and back. Then he had a fever and the ear infections came back. They tested him yesterday for strep throat and he has that too! He's kindly shared it with me but Cameron seems to be clear so far. So we are a sick household this week. Hoping that next week will be better. Grant took Cameron to school this morning and I've stayed at home with Jamie. Cameron was so excited to go in daddy's car.
Good news - Jamie moved into his "big boy bed". He is now out of his cot/crib and into a toddler bed. He's doing great and loves having a big boy bed. What happened to my baby? Such a milestone.
On Sunday we are going to have our photos take by Grant's football friend, Keith. Mark, Lisa and Emily had some great photos taken by him before they left for the Bahamas and it is my mother's day present to have some fun photos of the boys. I'm really looking forward to it but hoping we are all healthy by Sunday. Will post the photos next week.

Fun at the Fair
What a weekend! Yesterday the Vienna Baptist Children's Center Fun Run and today the Great Falls Spring Fair. See photos of both boys digging into bags of popcorn. They also did a pony ride, a hayride, bounced on lots of bouncy castles and slides, met a pirate, got their faces painted, saw antique cars and finally got a little ice cream before heading home exhausted. Of course, Cameron would have forced himself to stay and enjoy more bouncing action but Jamie said "sleepy" so we knew it was time to leave the fair and come back next year.

Fun Run
Cameron and Jamie's school had a 1 mile fun run this morning and we all took part. We got up early, rushed over to the school for the 9am start and ran our first race together. Last year Grant did the race with the boys but he's in Africa this week so it was up to Miranda and Granny Tina to lace up our running shoes and show our stuff. Granny came first in her age category! Good running Tina!Below: Granny and the boys ready to run...
Below: Ruby , Cameron and JamieAfter the race we played in the school playground where they had a fair. Ruby came to join us and the boys did face painting with Ruby. Ruby and Jamie are mice and Cameron is a pirate.

Brothers
I think this is the first time Cameron and Jamie have spontaneously held hands and walked together....a moment to remember.
